Travelling with pets
- Iceland is not part of the EU pet scheme: you need an import permit, tests, and your pet stays 14 days in quarantine.
- Some countries ban or restrict "dangerous" dog breeds: check before you go.
- Airlines have their own rules (cabin pets usually under about 8 kg with the bag, snub-nosed breeds often refused in the hold): book your pet's place early.
- Check the rules to come back home too: they can be stricter than for leaving.
