Respect & manners

• Get your e-Visa only on the official website.
• In Luang Prabang, watch the morning alms giving from a distance: no flash, no blocking the monks, and don't buy food from street sellers to give.
• Dress modestly in temples, take your shoes off, and women must not touch monks.
• Don't touch people's heads or point your feet at people.
• Keep calm and smile: raising your voice makes people lose face.
• Unexploded bombs remain in some areas (like the Plain of Jars): stay on marked paths.
