Respect & manners

  • Check whether you need a K-ETA (electronic travel authorisation) before you fly.
  • A small bow is the usual greeting. Use both hands to give or receive something.
  • Take your shoes off in homes and in some restaurants with floor seating.
  • Tipping is not expected.
  • Respect seats reserved for elderly, pregnant and disabled people on public transport.
  • Don't write people's names in red ink: it is linked to death.
