Respect & manners

• Dress modestly outside beaches and resorts: shoulders and knees covered. Women cover their hair in mosques.
• Non-Muslims can't enter most mosques (the Great Mosque of Kairouan courtyard is open to visitors).
• During Ramadan, avoid eating, drinking or smoking in public during the day.
• Bargaining is normal in the souks: smile and take your time.
• Ask before taking photos of people.
• Use your right hand to eat and to give.
