Western Sahara
Western Sahara's status is disputed. Most of the territory is administered by Morocco. Check the latest advice.
Caution: some areas are unsafe
Parts of this country are unsafe or advised against. Check your government's official travel advice before you go and during your trip.
Areas near the berm (sand wall) and the east are dangerous: landmines and military zones.

Criminalised or dangerous: high risk
- Moroccan law applies: same-sex relations are a criminal offence.
- Avoid any public display of affection, and think twice before posting photos or personal details online.
- Be very careful with dating apps: police and criminals have used them to set traps.
- Trans and non-binary travellers: the gender marker on your passport is what counts at border checks; carry supporting documents if your appearance has changed.
- If you face discrimination, threats or arrest, contact your embassy right away.
These rules change and depend on your situation: always check with the official sources and your embassy before you leave. GoZzzy gives general information and cannot be held responsible.
