Most governments advise against all travel. If you still have to go, be extremely careful: follow your government's official travel advice, register with your embassy, and keep emergency contacts with you at all times.

Respect & manners
- Avoid demonstrations, crowds and military or police sites. Never photograph them.
- Carry your passport (and a copy) at all times; follow curfews and checkpoints instructions calmly.
- Keep a charged phone, cash, water and a small emergency bag ready.
- Share your plans with someone you trust and with your embassy's registration service if it exists.
- Strict rules apply in public life, especially for women: dress and behaviour codes are enforced.
