- Water is very scarce in Jordan: take short showers.
- In Petra, walk or choose well-treated animals: refuse rides on tired or injured donkeys and horses.
- Stay with registered Bedouin camps in Wadi Rum.
- Leave no rubbish in the desert.
- Don't climb on monuments.
