Travelling with pets
- Expect to need a microchip, a valid rabies vaccination and an official veterinary health certificate issued a few days before the trip; an import permit may also be needed.
- Depending on where you come from, a rabies antibody blood test may be needed several months in advance: start early.
- Ask the country's embassy or veterinary services for the exact rules before you book.
- Airlines have their own rules (cabin pets usually under about 8 kg with the bag, snub-nosed breeds often refused in the hold): book your pet's place early.
- Rabies is present: keep your pet away from stray animals and make sure its vaccination is up to date.
- Check the rules to come back home too: they can be stricter than for leaving.
These rules change and depend on your situation: always check with the official sources and your embassy before you leave. GoZzzy gives general information and cannot be held responsible.
